Books, Children, and Nature…what else do you need? Maybe some adventure!

Pamela Evans believes children’s books open up a world of adventure, learning, and joy. Pamela writes tales for all ages, with a passion for stories that combine a child’s thirst for adventure with their curiosity about the natural world. She is currently seeking representation and is co-writing a picture book series, with acclaimed children’s book author Marc Boston.

As a member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) Pamela runs the SCBWI Mid-Atlantic co-writing group and various other writer groups. She is a member of the Virginia Writer’s Club (VWC) and published in various journals and literary blogs in the U.S. and the U.K.

As an award-winning educator, early childhood specialist, and school director, Pamela has developed and taught many Children’s Educational programs. She is an advocate for strong Play-Based curricula and Environmental Education. Pamela works as a consultant focusing on preschool education and music programs centering on young families. Working as an educator with children from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds has a powerful influence on Pam’s writing. Her background in the arts and education includes work at Carnegie Hall, Disney World, The American Symphony Orchestra League, and Equity Library Theatre-NYC.

When she’s not writing or wrangling a writer event, Pam is singing with children, playing her alto clarinet, taking in the natural world, or enjoying Swedish Fika!
